Our adventure begins at the Maturango Museum in Ridgecrest (3.5 hours from Santa Barbara) mid-afternoon for an orientation. We continue on (hunting for wildflowers enroute) to a primitive camp (no water or tables) at the weird, wild and wonderful Trona Pinnacles.
“Enroute” - Panamint Valley, Wild Rose Canyon, Aguereberry viewpoint, Stovepipe Wells, and our camp for 3 nights - Furnace Creek, in the heart of Death Valley National Park.
Northern Death Valley
Drive through Titus Canyon wildlands, ghost town, wildflowers, petroglyphs, and slot canyon... Titus and Ubehebe Crater. Scotty's Castle is forecast to remain closed until 2019 due to flood damage.
Central Death Valley
Dante’s View... and Zabriskie Point and badlands walk... plus Salt Creek pupfish ponds.... and Mosaic Canyon hike... plus sand dunes and Devil’s Cornfield. Dantes Peak Pupfish Mosaic Canyon Dunes
Southern Death Valley
Devil’s Golf Course, Badwater, Shoreline Butte, Shoshone, and return home.
