Join us for a week of trail work at the San Marcos Foothills Preserve in Santa Barbara from Monday, May 20, to Thursday, May 23, 2024. Pick which day works best for you. There is a morning shift from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., an afternoon shift from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or join us for the entire day. This is a great opportunity to learn about trail maintenance and to work with Ray Ford, one of the most experienced trail professionals in the region.

This is the perfect time of year for trail restoration. The ground is still soft, and cooler temperatures will allow us to get the maximum benefits from our efforts and widen trails where necessary. We will meet at the San Marcos Foothills, at the end of Via Gaitero Road, at 8:00 AM or 1:00 PM, depending on your selected shift. We look forward to a terrific week of trail work!

When you volunteer with us, please remember to wear long pants for comfort and safety and bring sunscreen and a sunhat. Also, bring plenty of water and snacks for the day.
