Join Channel Islands Restoration for a rewarding day of restoring and preserving one of Santa Barbara's most beautiful natural spaces. This is your chance to directly impact your local environment while connecting with fellow nature enthusiasts and environmental volunteers.

What we'll do: Collect acorns for future oak plantings at the preserve and remove invasive hemlock to create space for native plants and other small habitat restoration projects.

No previous experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm, a love for nature, and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty! We’ll provide all the tools and guidance you need to make a difference.

Why join us?

By volunteering, you’ll play a critical role in helping to restore the ecosystem of this cherished natural space. Together, we can ensure it thrives for years to come.

RSVP now to reserve your spot and help us protect the future of the San Marcos Foothills Preserve!

You will meet at the San Marcos Foothills, West Mesa, at the end of Via Gaitero Road at 9:00 AM. We look forward to a terrific trail day!
