Mulching & Planting at Elings Park
Saturday, December 12 | 9 aM – 12 PM & 1 PM – 4:00 pM
Join Channel Islands Restoration, SAGE Trails, and Elings Park for a hands-on day of habitat restoration on the Cliff Drive side of the park. Volunteers will plant native plants and spread mulch around them. The mulch keeps moisture in and weeds down, which gives the new plants a strong start.
Elings Park is a 230-acre nonprofit park in Santa Barbara, east of Las Positas Road and south of U.S. Highway 101. It’s the largest privately funded park in America, and community volunteers help make work like this possible.
You don’t need any experience. We’ll provide guidance and show you everything you need to know. Come for the morning, the afternoon, or both. Bring a friend, get your hands in the dirt, and help bring native habitat back to one of Santa Barbara’s most loved open spaces.
Working together, we’re transforming a former landscape into a vibrant California-native habitat—one plant, one wheelbarrow of mulch, and one volunteer at a time.
Come learn, get your hands dirty, and help us create habitat!
