Urgent: Volunteers Needed at Hammonds Meadow

We urgently need volunteers to plant over 1,500 plants at the breathtaking Hammond's Meadow. This hidden coastal treasure boasts stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands but is often difficult for the public to access.

This project has been a decade in the making, in collaboration with our local Chumash tribal partners. The plants are being delivered to the project site early next week and it’s vital that we have your support to get these plants in the ground quickly before the winter rain arrives. The weather is perfect for planting, and you’ll be among the few who get to explore this beautiful hidden gem while contributing to its preservation. Join us in this vital effort to protect and nurture our precious coastal habitat.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the complexities of ecological restoration, preservation techniques, and the importance of revitalizing native ecosystems.

Revegetation Efforts

Our team has already conducted two successful direct seedings, with a diverse range of species beginning to flourish. However, there's more work to be done! We urgently need volunteers to help plant 1,500 native plants in areas where growth is sparse. It's a fantastic opportunity to learn about the complexities of ecological restoration, preservation techniques, and the importance of revitalizing native ecosystems in urbanized communities.
