Join us for a one-of-a-kind natural history adventure skirting along the clouds aloft the towering Santa Ynez Mountains.

  Here's the details:

We'll meet in Santa Barbara at 8:00 AM on Sunday June 4, where we will load into our open air jeeps provided and staffed by Cloud Climbers, and we'll head off to the north along the 101!

We will drive to Refugio Beach - an area of cultural significance, and one of CIR's many restoration sites - and then wind our way up the canyon to Refugio Pass along the Santa Ynez Ridge. From there we will wind our way east atop the ridge, treated to sweeping views of the Santa Ynez Valley to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. We'll have time to get out of the jeeps to get up close and personal with some of the more exceptional areas as well. All the while, natural history experts Tanya Atwater and Elihu Gevirtz will be narrating the tour via two-way radio or in person at scenic stops, adding depth to the awe-inspiring scenery.

The adventure will wind its way east along the knife's edge ridge, up over Santa Ynez Mountain, down towards Stagecoach Rd and then stopping at the historic Cold Springs Tavern, where you will be treated to live music, the County's best tri-tip sandwiches, and beer-battered onion rings on the house. Drinks will of course be available as well, but at extra cost.

The trip will return to Santa Barbara around 4:00 pm where we'll unfortunately have to ask you to exit the jeep and bring the adventure to an end.

Tickets for this one-of-a-kind opportunity are $140 - which covers the cost of the jeeps for eight hours and the provided lunch.
