A Historic Partnership for the Channel Islands

May 15, 2025 | 8:00 AM TO 6:00 PM

Calling all island lovers, join us for a one-day adventure on Santa Cruz Island. It will be an unforgettable day as the National Park Service and Channel Islands Restoration celebrate our commitment to protecting one of America's most treasured landscapes.

This historic partnership between the National Park Service and Channel Islands Restoration will protect and preserve this remarkable island and ensure it remains a source of inspiration and discovery for generations to come.

This memorable day will include:

  • A tour of the historic Scorpion Ranch on Santa Cruz Island led by the Park Superintendent, Kenneth Convery.

  • A showcase of our joint vision for habitat restoration, protection, and other projects to be carried out under the philanthropic agreement by CIR Executive Director Ken Owen.

  • Meet the dedicated teams from both organizations who work tirelessly to protect these unique islands.

  • Network with fellow conservation supporters and park enthusiasts.

  • A special showcase of native plants from the island

  • A tour of the restoration sites at Cavern Point and the historic ranch buildings at Scorpion Harbor

Since 2002, Channel Islands Restoration has worked to protect rare and endangered species across the California Channel Islands. This new partnership marks an exciting next chapter in our ongoing mission to preserve 250,000 acres of extraordinary island and marine ecosystems.
