Cape Ivy
Cape ivy is an invasive non-native species that grows in shaded regions in California. Cape ivy is seen here dominating the understory and climbing the oaks, eliminating habitat for native species. Natives such as fuschia-flowered gooseberry, Nuttall's snowberry, brook foam and California melic would be planted under the shade of the oaks.
