We invite our donors of $500 or more to join us with ecologist Wayne Ferren and Geologist Tanya Atwater at the Carpinteria Salt Marsh on November 4 from 3:30 to 5:00pm.
During this time, the tide changes and alters the ecology of Salt Marsh wetland. This is a particularly important time for birds to feed and for marine fish (even small sharks) to enter the Salt Marsh. Wayne will point out and explain the most interesting aspects of this event and Tanya will discuss how the geology of the area is responsible for the existence of the Salt Marsh.
We will be visiting by special permission a part of the Marsh owned by the UC Natural Reserve System that is not normally open to the public. Refreshments will be served!
If you did not receive an invite but believe that you should have, please contact us via contact@cirweb.org.
