“Channel Islands Restoration works tirelessly around Santa Barbara County and surrounding areas to restore wild spaces to their natural state through restoration projects. Volunteering alongside their wonderful staff has been such an educational and inspiring experience.
I would certainly recommend others volunteer with CIR and I hope to do more volunteering in the future too. The Operations Manager, Doug Morgan, is especially knowledgeable about animal habitat and plant identification. It's great that my volunteer work has made such a positive environmental impact.”

“Since 2017, I’ve had the pleasure of volunteering with Channel Islands Restoration several times, including dune restoration and Island Night Lizard habitat restoration on San Nicolas Island, “sheeperoning” (chaperoning the sheep) at the San Marcos Foothills Preserve, and removing non-native, invasive Tamarisk on the scenic Sisquoc River.
In addition to feeling good about working to help our environment, I’ve also gained knowledge each time I’ve volunteered with CIR (botany, geology, ecology).
An unexpected bonus that has emerged has been creating new and lasting friendships… so much goodness all around!”
